Membership ‘Ad Eundem’

(updated 8 September 2011)

This is a relatively new category of Faculty membership which allows the Faculty to encompass as full Members those specialist occupational physicians who do not hold a Faculty qualification but are entered on the Specialist Register of the UK General Medical Council by virtue of EU or overseas training and qualifications or via the CESR (Article 14) route.

Membership via the ad eundem route will entitle you to:

  • use the postnominal MFOM
  • attend and vote at the Annual General Meeting in May each year
  • participate in the electoral process for members of the Faculty Board
  • participate in the work of the Faculty through membership of Committees and Working Groups
  • attend scientific meetings and working groups organized by the Faculty
  • take part in the Faculty’s continuing professional development (CPD) scheme which will provide one part of your portfolio evidence for revalidation in this area of practice

    and also to receive:
  • regular updates on occupational health and medicine issues, through our electronic newsletter
  • a comprehensive review of the Faculty’s work and plans, through the Annual Report
  • access to a members’ area on the Faculty website
  • eligibility for the annual Wilf Howe Memorial Prize awarded for excellent or innovative practice and for the Mobbs Travelling Fellowships
  • a discounted price for new publications
  • Occupational and Environmental Medicine, the Faculty’s adopted monthly journal.

Application should be made by completing and returning this application form together with the appropriate fees. Successful applicants will be sent written confirmation and will be required to pay the relevant annual subscription before admission to Membership of the Faculty. They will be invited to receive their certificate at the next Annual General Meeting and to attend the Annual Dinner. Should an application be unsuccessful, then the Membership Admission Fee will not be processed.

If you require more information, please contact Emma Dawson at the Faculty office.
